Hi there, I am Jean Ortega, I am from Colombia.

Colombia is country that during more than 50 years has been in an internal war.

When I was 7 years old, in 29th august of 1999, 150 strongly armed terrorist came to my village and killed 50 countryside people.

A couple of months later they, the same terrorist group, came to my house and took my father, a couple of hours later they released him under a condition, they gave to my family 24 hours to leave the village, "If you do not leave we will kill you" it was what they told my father.

We went to a city called Cucuta, there we found violence too, my brother and uncle were both killed.

It has been something painful for my family and I.

However, everything happens for a reason, and every tragedy brings a blessing. After that situation,

I studied primary and secondary in a public school, then I went to university and got graduate being the first member in all my family who finished primary, high school and university. After that my mom did it too.

Today I speak 3 languages, I have visited more than 20 countries doing volunteer and inspiring people.

I have a big mission in life and this is to help people who have gone through similar experiences. And if you are reading this is because I believe this message is coming to the right time to tell you that no matter what you are going through in life, it will end, no matter what happens, even, the darkest night ends when sun rises up. I am here to help you.
